Galaxy Note 4 Battery Life After Updating to Lollipop 5.01

My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 recently received the update to Lollipop 5.01, and as a result, suffered significant degradation in battery life. Samsung supported provided me with the following remediation steps that have thus far corrected the problem.

1. Power the device off.
2. Hold (do not press)

2. Home
3. Power
3. A warning screen will appear.
1. A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.
4. Press volume down to cancel.
5. When the device boots up and displays the lock screen, power the device off again.
6. Hold (do not press)
1. Volume up
2. Home
3. Power
7. The Android image will appear with a message below indicating, 'Installing system update.."
8. The Android System Recovery menu will appear.
9. Use the volume button to select "wipe cache partition"
10. Press the power button to invoke the operation.
11. Select "reboot system now" that should be selected by default
12. Press the power button to invoke the operation.
